How is CARAD staffed?
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

CARAD is a predominantly volunteer organisation. An Executive Board and Management committee, with experience in governance of community organizations, meet on a monthly basis and oversee the operations of CARAD. The volunteers managing CARAD have a wealth of experience and local knowledge that allows CARAD to maintain networks with like-minded organizations and to provide effective referral and advocacy services.

Our core group of nearly 100 active volunteers meet regularly with clients in the community to offer homework support, English as a second language support, social support and other assistance.  We also have a small group of volunteers who visit detainees at Perth International Detention Centre.

CARAD employs four part-time staff - an Office Manager, a Manager of Volunteers, a Client Case Manager and a Regional Case Manager.  Unfortunately, although the workload is heavy, CARAD is unable to afford full time positions from its current funding sources.

CARAD is grateful for the support of the Uniting Church and the Council of Churches, whose staff are able to provide leadership and administrative support to CARAD as part of their work time.
