All donations of $2.00 or more are tax deductible.

CARAD provides financial support to refugees who have not been granted the right to work, and have no access to Centrelink payments or Asylum Seekers Assistance Scheme (administered by the Red Cross) funding.  We spend between $4 000 and $10 000 per month supporting refugees and asylum seekers with emergency funds and material - including basic accommodation and a small living allowance.

CARAD coordinates a homework and English language support program to refugees at home, through our fantastic volunteers.  It would be lovely to have more resources for our volunteers to draw on.

CARAD also aims to provide a support service to asylum seekers held at detention centres in WA.  Unfortunately, travel costs are high, and we are not able to visit the remote detention centres often enough.

How can you help CARAD continue its work making a difference in someone's life?

-       become a CARAD member ($30.00 per year)
Your membership gives weight to our advocacy efforts, and helps fund our work.

-       become an active volunteer
Help a student with their homework, help a refugee improve their English language skills, visit asylum seekers held in detention, help someone settle in
Australia, help CARAD with our fundraising or officework.....

-    make a financial donation
We rely heavily on your generosity to pay our (part time) staff, and to provide a small living allowance and accommodation service to asylum seekers who
are not eligible for other funding.

-  support CARAD's fundraising efforts through your purchases.  Go to the CARAD shop.

-   send us a supermarket gift card or a prepaid phonecard
We know many of our clients would greatly appreciate this gesture of welcome - which would help them feed their family, or help them talk to their family overseas.

Furniture

CARAD regrets that we can no longer maintain a Household Goods program, and manage client furniture requirements on an ad hoc basis.  If you have furniture or other goods that you want to donate to refugees, please consider contacting St Vincent de Paul on 9342 6710.
