The Coalition for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees (CARAD) Inc. was formed in 2000 to initially advocate for better treatment of asylum seekers, when the then Australian Government introduced the Temporary Protection Visas (TPV) policy .
Since then, CARAD has been an active campaigner for change in the refugee determination conditions and process, and takes its advocacy efforts directly to the Government and other stakeholders
In addition, CARAD has assisted more than 5000 refugees and asylum seekers in Western Australia with services such as settlement support, advocacy, referral, emergency and financial aid, English lessons and homework support.
CARAD has evolved to become the agency of last resort for community based asylum seekers, a respected voice for refugee rights and advocacy and a key partner in the education of students of a refugee background.
We gladly accept financial donations, gift cards or sponsorship that will help us to continue our work in the community. Donations are tax-deductible.
