CARAD Pantry

The CARAD Pantry service reduces financial stress on our clients by providing food (fresh, pantry) and hygiene items. It is an essential service that runs solely on donations received from our community partners, schools and individuals. Every month we source, sort and pack fresh fruits and vegetables, pantry essentials as well as household and personal hygiene items to our clients.

  • Fresh Food Bags - Packed on a weekly basis, these bags are made up of fresh fruits and vegetables received from our partner organisation, SecondBite. Contents of these bags vary based on availability and seasons.

  • Pantry Bags - Packed on a weekly basis, these bags are made up of pantry essentials such as tinned vegetables, rice, oil, and more. A full list is available below.

  • Hygiene Bags - Packed on a monthly basis, these bags are made up of household and personal hygiene items such as shower gel, deodorant, laundry detergent and more. A full list is available below.

Each week, CARAD receives donated food free of charge from SecondBite, one of Australia’s largest food rescue organisations.  SecondBite provide fresh food and vegetables to our pantry, which are then sorted and packed by our volunteers, to be distributed directly to our asylum seeking clients.

The food provided makes a real difference to the lives of our CARAD families, and ensures that they have healthy, nutritious meals each week.  Thank you to SecondBite for your generosity and support!
